Hope Tree Art Exhibition 2020

August 15, 2020 - October 15, 2020

Miantonomi Park, Newport, RI

Art Builds Connection, and Connection Builds Community.

The Hope Tree Art Exhibition is an initiative of the Newport Health Equity Zone’s Arts & Culture Working Group and the Newport Art Museum. This outdoor public art exhibition, now in its third year, is designed to celebrate the strength, diversity, hopes and voices of individuals, families, community organizations connected to the North End neighborhood. Participants were invited to share their hopes for the community, and were provided with the materials to decorate a canvas around an inspirational work of their choice.

Exhibition Artists: Dianne Ford and family (HOPE), Newport Out (PRIDE), Newport Public Art (POWER), Newport Health Equity Zone (JUSTICE), Breeyanna King and family (LOVE), College Unbound (HUMANITY), Cara Willi and family (SOLIDARITY), the Newport County Arts & Cultural Alliance (ARTS), Looking Upwards (JOY), Creative Communities Collaborative (VOICE), Jy-Tique Harris (LEGACY), and the James L. Maher Center (EQUALITY). Lettering on all canvases was painted by muralist Jy-Tique Harris.

Visitors are invited to connect with us on Instagram to share their thoughts.
