Learn about Maud Howe Elliott and Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, two of the visionary women who were the force behind the institution’s creation over 100 years ago, understand the social and historical context of the permanent collection, engage with multiple curated contemporary exhibitions, and explore the architecture of our historic buildings.
