About our collaborators

We support and work with the LGBTQ+ community and its allies in the Newport, RI area. We advocate for equality and more inclusive policies, safe and welcoming spaces, provide resources and education to expand community understanding, support diverse LGBTQ+ identities and history, and produce events for people to connect, learn, and celebrate. Our vision is to see a Newport where LGBTQ+ residents, as well as visitors, feel completely safe, welcomed, and included. Where LGBTQ+ people of all ages—from the youth in our schools to our seniors—feel empowered and supported to be fully themselves and have greater opportunities for connection and support.

The Choral Collective of Newport County‘s mission is to provide opportunities for youth and adults to discover the joy and power of singing in community with others. CCNC welcomes and empowers voices, strengthens our community of voices, and inspires joyful voices. CCNC’s newest chorus is QUORUS, Newport’s first and only LGBTQIA+ chorus for teens and adults. The group began meeting in February with the goal to amplify and empower the LGBTQIA+ voices of Newport County and provide a safe and inclusive environment that welcomes singers from all backgrounds, races and genders.
