Join us for a day of family-friendly activities inspired by Día de los Muertos and current exhibitions. There will be hands-on art-making, storytelling, Halloween costumes, scavenger hunts, music and more!
What’s happening:
Día de los muertos storytelling with Jesús de la Torre! Learn about the traditions associated with this holiday and the significance of ofrenda (altar) making.
Storytelling at 12:30pm, 1:30pm, and 2:30pm. Please plan accordingly!
Día de los muertos ofrenda decorations
Join Museum Educators and Conexión Latina Newport staff to create traditional decorations for the Museum’s community ofrenda (altar).
FREE for ALL Saturday is free for everyone, and all materials are provided. RSVP appreciated. The Viking Trolley will pick up attendees at Equality Park, the MLK Jr. Community Center, and Conexíon Latina starting at 11:45am and running intermittently until 3:00pm.
Photo Release: By participating in this event, I hereby give my permission for the Newport Art Museum to take and use photograph(s) of myself and my children for Museum publicity, promotion, documentation, and publication, including the Museum’s website and social media.
