Artist Day at Rough Point
Join us for a plein air session at Rough Point, with artist John Grosvenor!
June 20, 2026 9:00 am - 11:00 am Rough Point
Visit the grounds of the iconic Newport landmark, Rough Point, for art making led by John Grosvenor! An award-winning architect and artist, John Grosvenor is known for his background in design, interest and impact in preservation, and passion for the arts. Working in both oil and watercolor, Grosvenor is an active artist member in numerous watercolor societies.
Artists will meet on the lawn of Rough Point, an iconic mansion that was the home of heiress and collector Doris Duke, surrounded by gardens and a stunning ocean view. As parking at the venue is limited, taking the trolley or biking is recommended.
Participants will receive $5 off passes to visit the Rough Point museum.
Artist Days are informal art-making sessions organized by the Museum and hosted by community artists. Please note that these are not formal classes, but an opportunity for artists to engage and create together leading up to Wet Paint.
Artists must provide their own materials. All mediums are welcome! Attending an Artist Day is not required to participate in Wet Paint- we gladly welcome all donations!
Artists attending this event must be 18+.
Special thanks to our Exclusive Sponsor, Arnold Art!
