This workshop covers the essentials: brush technique, opacity, color mixing, and value through hands-on exercises designed for all experience levels. Participants will leave with a solid foundation and a short, finished portrait painting.
Materials not included, supply list sent upon registration.
Jordan Rhodes is a Pawtucket, Rhode Island-based artist with a Ph.D. in Chemistry. Though art has been a lifelong pursuit, Jordan’s practice gained wider recognition during graduate school, when sharing work online drew the attention of a steadily growing audience and led to collaborations with a range of notable clients, including Strathmore, Princeton Brushes, Sktchy, Shake Shack, Adult Swim, Columbia Records, and Disney Plus.
Jordan works in both traditional and digital media, with a particular focus on gouache, the medium at the heart of this workshop. Portraiture is a primary subject, though the practice is marked by a consistent commitment to experimentation and continued learning. That same spirit of curiosity and accessibility shapes Jordan’s approach to teaching.
