Artist Day at Rose Island

Visit Rose Island for a plein air session led by artist Kelsy Patnaude!

June 24, 2026 2:15 pm - 6:30 pm Depart from Fort Adams to Rose Island

Sail to Rose Island, departing from Fort Adams at 2:30 PM sharp for a plein air session led by artist and professional yacht captain Kelsy Patnaude! Patnaude’s mediums of choice are oil and gouache, through which she explores the roles of gender and the sublime in the male-dominated sailing world – expressing her passion for empowering women through both her art and maritime career.

Join us for an evening of art-making, and be inspired by the scenic views of wildlife refuge Rose Island, and the surrounding Narragansett bay. Artists may bring food and small folding chairs, but must remove any trash brought with them. Departure is scheduled for 6:00 PM, returning to Fort Adams by 6:30 PM.

Parking is available at Fort Adams- please ensure you leave time to arrive and park prior to departure at 2:30.

Artist Days are informal art-making sessions organized by the Museum and hosted by community artists. Please note that these are not formal classes, but an opportunity for artists to engage and create together leading up to Wet Paint.

Artists must provide their own materials. All mediums are welcome! Attending an Artist Day is not required to participate in Wet Paint- we gladly welcome all donations!

Artists attending this event must be 18+.
