Join us to congratulate the Biennial Award Winners!
Biennial Juror Kimberli Gant, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Brooklyn Museum, selected 3 artists of the many exhibiting in the Biennial to win awards for their work. Join us in conversation with two of the winners – Chil Mott, 2nd place winner, and Natasha Harrison, Best in Show. This informal discussion will take place in the Cushing Gallery and will be a perfect opportunity to enjoy a final look at the exhibition during its last days. Conversation will be facilitated by Curatorial Assistant Megan Horn and Director of Community Engagement Cristin Searles Bilodeau.

About the Artists
Natasha Harrison is a native Rhode Islander who graduated with a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design Glass Department in 1991. She went on to co-found and run a nonprofit arts organization with Lisa Randall, in Newport RI. For 16 years Island Arts served the community through two locations that included a 1200 sq. foot donated exhibition space, classrooms, darkroom, year round outreach programs for at-risk youth and countless art exhibitions and events.Harrison continued to pursue her work in glass and graduated from The Vermont College of Fine Arts in 2007 to receive her MFA. Harrison lives and works in Newport, RI.
Chil Mott was born in New Hampshire and has lived in every state in New England. He’s been a graphic designer, illustrator, carpenter, musician, and Jr. High basketball coach. He began working at Greenwood Associates as a designer and illustrator in 1992. Their clients include a wide range of non profit groups from health care, education, child advocacy, fire prevention, animal rights and land preservation organizations among others. He has also worked with skateboard companies, surf shops and many bands and record companies. He began oil painting in earnest 5 years ago and currently has a studio in Little Compton and an office in Middletown.
