Ben Tré developed a technique for moldmaking and annealing that allowed him to create massive outdoor glass sculptures able to withstand the variations of weather without cracking.
Favoring translucency over transparency, the artist’s outdoor sculptures typically combine cast glass with copper, bronze, or stone that offset the sea-green hue of industrial glass.
In 1997 Ben Tré attended the famous Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle and completed his MFA in glass at Rhode Island school of Design in 1980.
