Ceramic Transfers Workshop
May 2, 2026 - May 3, 2026
2 sessions
Saturday + Sunday 10:00 am - 2:30 pm
Teaching Artist:
Christine Herron
In this two-day workshop, students will explore the process of creating ceramic transfers; a process for creating detailed designs on clay using underglaze, slip layers then applying them to functional pieces.
Students will observe sample work, learn about materials, and make transfers to prepped cups and slabs. Students will then design and draw their own transfers, layering underglazes and slip, and applying them to slabs to complete a set of square dishes.
All skill levels welcome.

Christine Herron has been designing original, handmade products for Red Chair Studio for over thirty years. Trained in illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design, she is known for her vibrant use of color and love of the natural world. Her work spans hand-painted garden products, fiber-dyed silk, jewelry, and hand-built clay vessels.
Currently, she focuses on functional pottery and porcelain jewelry and teaches painting and pottery classes. Christine’s work is colorful, quirky and reflecting her love of nature and all things floral.
