From the Pell (Newport) Bridge:

Take “Scenic Newport” exit. Bear right onto America’s Cup Avenue. Continue until you reach Memorial Boulevard (Route 138) – turn left onto Memorial and drive up the hill. Turn left (north) on Bellevue Avenue. The Museum’s main campus is bordered by Bellevue Avenue (west), Old Beach Road (north) and Liberty Street (east) and Downing Street (south.) The Coleman Center is on Liberty Street. Free Museum parking is available off Downing Street and off Old Beach Road. Our south parking lot off Downing Street provides easy access to all three Museum buildings for those using wheelchairs, walking aids or strollers.

From Boston and points north:

Take Route 24 (onto Aquidneck Island) to Route 138 South (Newport Beaches). Continue on Route 138. Turn left on Route 138A (Aquidneck Avenue). Bear right onto Memorial Boulevard and drive up the hill to Bellevue Avenue. Turn right on Bellevue. The Museum’s main campus is bordered by Bellevue Avenue (west), Old Beach Road (north) and Liberty Street (east) and Downing Street (south.) The Coleman Center is on Liberty Street. Free Museum parking is available off Downing Street and off Old Beach Road. Our south parking lot off Downing Street provides easy access to all three Museum buildings for those using wheelchairs, walking aids or strollers.

Rhode Island Public Transportation (RIPTA) buses run every 20 minutes from the Visitors Information Center at 23 America’s Cup Avenue in downtown Newport. Take the Yellow Line/Route 67 outbound to the bus stop at the corner of Bellevue Avenue and Memorial Boulevard: about a seven minute ride. Cross to the north side of Memorial Boulevard and continue walking two blocks. The Newport Art Museum main campus is located at the corners of Bellevue Avenue, Downing Street and Old Beach Road across from Touro Park.

The Newport Art Museum has on-site parking for a limited number of cars and encourages car-pooling for larger groups. The Museum can accommodate coach buses.

The Newport Art Museum’s three-building campus includes the John N. A. Griswold House, the Cushing Gallery Building and the Museum School located in the Minnie & Jimmy Coleman Center for Creative Studies. All three buildings are accessible to visitors using wheelchairs, walking aids, children’s strollers or service animals. Enter our south parking lot from Downing Street, which provides easy access to all Museum buildings and grounds. Ramps on the south side of the Griswold House and the north side of the Cushing Gallery Building are accessible via the south lot, and provide access to the Griswold Houses’ automatic doors.
