WRITE RHODE ISLAND Awards Ceremony

Celebrating the Award Winning Student Writers from Across the Ocean State

April 7, 2019 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The results are in!

Write Rhode Island has announced the winners in their third annual creative writing competition for students grades 7-12!

We are pleased to host the Awards Ceremony honoring this statewide creative writing program, and the achievements of the talented young student writers who participated. The Ceremony marks the culmination of a year of dedicated work by Providence’s School One and the Goat Hill Writers. The Newport Art Museum joined local schools and public libraries from all over the state to host Writing Workshops this fall where students could hone their skills under the direction of experienced Goat Hill writers.

Students’ passion and interests are at the heart of their connection to literature. Write Rhode Island’s aim is to encourage students to become better writers and to provide an opportunity for them to develop their own expressive voices and share their perspectives of the world.

Space is limited. Write Rhode Island participants and partners should RSVP via email to Diana Champa at School One at dianac@school-one.org.

The 2019 Write RI Anthology will be available for purchase in the Museum Shop.
