Recent Acquisitions to the Permanent Collection

The Newport Art Museum has been actively collecting American and contemporary art for nearly forty years. Amounting to around 2,900 objects, the Museum’s permanent collection includes prints, drawings, photographs, paintings, sculptures, textiles, mixed media, and more. Over the past five years, the Museum not only enhanced some of its strengths but it also added new and diverse artists, objects, voices, and ideas to the collection. This exhibition showcases some of these recent acquisitions including works by Durr Freedley, Lindsay Morris, Andy Warhol, and Nafis M. White among others.

As the Newport Art Museum relies on gifts of art to the collection, we would like to thank our many generous donors for helping us to build and diversify the collection.
