Wright & Corridor Galleries
“Celebrity” is a complex and evolving concept shaped in each era by cultures, tastes, and media (such as social media, film, and television). Showcasing portraits of the stars of music, art, and popular culture, “Fame” presents celebrities captured at a moment in time by photographers Bill Jay, Carmel Vitullo, Stephan Brigidi, Donna Ferrato, Henry Horenstein, and Paris Visone. Either taken spontaneously or carefully posed, these photographs document luminaries of the 20th and 21st centuries. Come see Louis Armstrong, Kurt Cobain, Jasper Johns, Jennifer Lopez, John Malkovich, Bruce Springsteen, and many others as you have never seen them before. This exhibition features works from the Museum’s collection—some of which have never been exhibited—and works on loan by Visone, a Boston-based music photographer.
