Summer Art Camp: Introduction to Puppetry (Ages 9-12)

Join us for a fun-filled week of puppetry! Campers will learn a variety of different styles of puppetry – both construction and performance. As students gain new skills, they will be encouraged to apply them however they choose to create unique puppets that align with their own creativity and interests. Campers will work with cardboard, paint, glittery embellishments and much more! Campers should bring a drink and snack.

 

About the Teaching Artist:

Ike Huntley is a student at the Rhode Island School of Design, studying Animation. He is interested in puppetry, embroidery and stop motion animation – but his main focus is finding playful ways to combine craft and video!

Location and Parking

Newport Art Museum School camps are held in the Museum's School located at the Coleman Center for Creative Studies at 26 Liberty Street. Please park in our museum parking lots or on Liberty Street.
