Students will explore the process of making and refining templates for use in slab building through demonstrations of various techniques. Students will leave the workshop with the skills to make on their own templates for future projects.

Materials

If possible, students should have three slabs, between 8×12″ and 12×24″ and around 1/4″ thick, rolled and ready.

rubber or silicone rib
scoring tool
brush for slip
small cup or jar for water/slip
marker for tracing and labelling templates
scissors
notebook/sketchbook and pen
