Clay and Color Workshop

September 23, 2024 - October 7, 2024

3 sessions

Monday's 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Teaching Artist: Nancy Lyons

Discover the world of colored clay appliqué in our immersive 3-session workshop! This hands-on experience will introduce you to a vibrant palette of possibilities by incorporating mason stains into a white clay body, offering an alternative to traditional slips and glazes. You’ll begin by learning how to create a variety of colored clays and explore different methods of applying them to both thrown and hand-built pieces. Throughout the workshop, you’ll draw inspiration from examples of colored clay works by other artists and develop your own unique creations. Whether you’re refining your throwing skills or venturing into hand building, this workshop provides a creative space to experiment, learn, and transform your clay work with bold, personalized colors. Bring your ideas and let your imagination run wild in this colorful journey!
