Oil and Cold Wax Painting

October 28, 2024 - November 18, 2024

4 sessions

Mondays 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Teaching Artist: Susan Petree

Come learn the joy of painting with oil paint and cold wax medium!  Cold wax is a paste made from naturally white unbleached beeswax, alkyd resin, and odorless mineral spirits (OMS).  Oil paint is mixed with the wax and is used to make oil colors thicker and more matte.  By layering and manipulating different oil and cold wax layers, you will create rich abstract paintings with lots of visual texture.  We will explore many different ways to make textures as well as using oil sticks and various pigments along with the oil and cold wax.

The class is perfect for the beginner and exciting for experienced artists to try something new. No painting experience is necessary.

All supplies will be provided for a $35 supply fee which can be paid directly to the teaching artist. Please note this class is Adults only.
