N.C. Wyeth: A Biography, by David Michaelis
This biography of one of America’s foremost illustrators chronicles Wyeth’s complicated, fraught relationship with his family and analyzes his stormy ties to his mentor, Howard Pyle. This is a multifaceted look at a passionate, difficult subject, with Wyeth emerging as a complex Individual whose inner life was thoroughly entwined with every aspect of his art.
Joining the discussion this month will be special guests Judy Goffman Cutler, Co-Founder and Director of Newport’s National Museum of American Illustration and her colleague, Arts Administrator Sarah Bliss Cohen. They will share with the group a selection of artworks by N. C. Wyeth that will bring the biography to life.
