Cultivating Mindful Creativity Workshop
April 21, 2021 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm Virtual on Zoom
An Interactive Workshop for Creatives
Creatives are often compelled to “make” as a way to grapple with what they see, feel and experience. This can mean mining deep wells of personal experiences, memories and emotions to make work for private or personal consumption, or for using their voice to amplify the struggles or issues they see taking place around them. Whatever the result, tapping into these rich sources of inspiration can be challenging but brings with it greater self knowledge, compassion and creative energy.
Join us for a workshop designed for creatives who want to further awaken their ability to transform life experiences into artistic fodder, strengthen their emotional intelligence, and reflect. Using a selection of artworks on display in the Museum, writer, visual artist and founder of Born to Rise™ Kim Fuller will guide us through an interactive workshop focused on cultivating connections, awakening a sense of mindfulness, and exercising our intuitive and empathetic muscles through conversation, writing and art making.
Making can take any form – writing, painting, sketching, playing with clay, or just listening. Have on hand any materials you consider your go-to when you are beginning your creative process.
Registrants will receive the Zoom link the day before the Workshop.
About our Guest Facilitator
Kim Fuller
Kim has been a professional photographer for over 30 years and has found that the process of looking through her lens has been a very mindful process. She then met the Dalai Lama and began her studies in Buddhism and realized she could also be mindful with her camera down. Kim is an award winning author, Tedx speaker, teacher and mindfulness coach and has developed a method called P.A.U.S.E. to help people more mindfully navigate relationships in their lives. She developed this method after her challenges parenting her adopted son who had reactive attachment disorder.
This is the story she shares in her book called FINDING.
She also created a movement called Born to Rise™ that empowers women to stand in their story and self-image with confidence, so they can connect more deeply, create a life of peace and possibility and to make positive change while inspiring others to do the same.
She is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), a mother of three, a wife and full on hugger.
Born to Rise™ is a women’s movement for spiritual thought leaders who want to courageously stand in their light by owning, loving and sharing their personal stories and self-image. Our aim is to bring forth the feminine energies of empathy, compassion and courage though story sharing in community, creativity and mindfulness.
