May 5, 2024 - May 5, 2024

1 session

Saturday 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Taught by Amale Chamseddine

Join us to learn more about the principles of geometric design that are the basis for the beautiful and intricate patterns in the art of the Islamic world. Study the real tile styles which adorn  various religious landmarks and sites standing today and try your hand at recreating them with Amale’s guidance. In this workshop, students will use protractors, tracing paper, pencils, and watercolors.

This is a continuation of a first installment in the learning process. If you would like to learn about this class but have not taken the first part of the class yet, please reach out to esywolski@newportartmuseum.org to discuss joining.

This class will be held in the museum school.
