Teaching Artist: Kyle Canyon

Do you have a passion for fashion? Do you want to expand on your drawing skills? If you’re always sketching your perfect outfit or imagining your own fashion line, then this after-school class is for you! Spend your afternoon getting inspired by unforgettable fashion moments in pop culture, and then dive into creating your own fashion sketches and designs. You’ll learn how to draw stylish outfits, experiment with colors and patterns, and develop your own mini fashion collection through illustration. By the end of the class, you’ll be inspired and ready to turn your fashion ideas into amazing drawings! Ages 8-12

About the Teaching Artist:

Kyle Canyon is a Rhode Island based illustrator and comic artist living on Aquidneck Island. By using thin line work, sourced textures, and bold colors the artist brings a unique visual identity to their digital illustrations. Canyon creates thought provoking narratives depicting a variety of subjects such as identity, love, gossip, and humor. Kyle currently teaches art programming at the Newport Art Museum and Jamestown Arts Center. The artist’s work has been published within the USA and abroad.

Location and Parking

Newport Art Museum School camps are held in the Museum's School located at the Coleman Center for Creative Studies at 26 Liberty Street. Please park in our museum parking lots or on Liberty Street.
