Drawing With Pastel

Join us for this in-depth look at the art of drawing with pastels! Learn the basic essentials of drawing with chalk pastels, and how to achieve the illusion of depth through color. Students will explore pastel techniques applicable to portraiture, landscapes and seascapes. The teaching artist will provide all references for drawing, and will allow the opportunity for the students to bring a picture from home in the final weeks. All supplies included.

This class is All Ages (children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult).

Location and parking

Newport Art Museum classes are held in the Museum School at the Coleman Center for Creative Studies, at 26 Liberty Street. Please park in our museum parking lots or on Liberty Street.
