BOOK DESCRIPTION:
The novel focuses on the budding Abstract Expressionist movement, whose major players, Mark Rothko, Lee Krasner, and Jackson Pollack, interact with the fictional Alizee Benoit who disappears in 1940. In 2015, three hidden paintings attached to the backs of canvases submitted to an auction house for appraisal are discovered. Danielle, Alizee’s great-niece, feels these paintings bear a striking resemblance to her great-aunt’s two surviving works of art. Danielle is determined to prove their authenticity and if possible, solve the mystery of the disappearance of Alizee Benoit.
