Acrylic II: Beyond the Basics

Take your acrylic painting skills to the next level in this dynamic and intensive class designed for artists with basic experience who are ready to deepen their technique and creative expression. Over six weeks, you’ll refine your mastery of acrylics while experimenting with more advanced techniques and exploring personal artistic style.

This course will challenge you to push boundaries and explore the full range of possibilities with acrylics. You’ll enhance your skills in color theory, texture building, and advanced brushwork while developing a deeper understanding of light, depth, and composition. Each session will offer guided exercises as well as plenty of time for independent exploration and refinement of your artistic voice.

Emphasizing spontaneity and intuition, you’ll be encouraged to take risks and step out of your comfort zone, producing bold, unique pieces that reflect your evolving artistic journey. All supplies are included, so come prepared to challenge yourself and let your creativity soar.

Location and Parking

Newport Art Museum classes are held in the Museum School at the Coleman Center for Creative Studies, at 26 Liberty Street. Please park in our museum parking lots or on Liberty Street.
