GIVE TODAY

Newport Art Museum has been a vibrant cultural and civic gathering place for over a century. Our collection, exhibitions, art education, community outreach, and preservation of our historic buildings will all benefit from your generous support. Thank you!

Visionaries Circle

Every so often someone comes up with an inspired idea that takes root and blossoms. In 1912, the idea was the establishment of the Art Association of Newport and the visionary individual was Maude Howe Elliott. Over 100 years later, the Art Association, now the Newport Art Museum, is a thriving, nationally recognized Museum that honors its exceptional history while embracing 21st century practices.

Sustaining a century of growth would not have been possible without the ongoing support of enthusiastic benefactors who believed in the mission and future of the Museum.

Our Planned Giving Society, the Visionaries Circle honors those supporters who have designated a portion of their assets in their will or through their estate planning to benefit the Newport Art Museum. Gifts from bequests and trusts ensure the future and support the Mission of our historic Museum for generations to come.

If you have questions or have already included the Museum in your estate planning, please contact the Museum's Director, Norah Diedrich at ndiedrich@newportartmuseum.org or 401-619-2213.

Gift of Artwork

Gifts of art, or funds to purchase art, ensure that the Newport Art Museum can continue to build its permanent collection with artworks that complement and augment those works already accessioned.

Outright gifts allow you to receive a charitable deduction for tax purposes. Fractional gifts allow you to keep partial ownership of your work and receive a charitable deduction for tax purposes.

Bequests allow you to keep your artwork for the remainder of your life while ensuring it will have a proper home after your death and lessening the burden of estate taxes on your heirs.

Promised gifts allow you to continue to enjoy the use of your work while making a commitment of a future gift to the Museum either during lifetime or through a bequest.

Making a Gift of Art: Please provide as much information about the artwork as possible - artist's name, date of creation, title, medium, country of origin, size of the work, and other relevant information, along with photographs of the piece. This will help us assess whether the work is suitable for our mission. After initial consideration, the Museum's Senior Curator may request to see the work of art in person.
