Mr. James J. Coleman, Jr.
(1941-2019)
The Newport Art Museum would like to recognize Mr. James (Jimmy) J.Coleman, Jr. and his significant contributions to our Museum over the years. The Minnie and Jimmy Coleman Center for Creative Studies, where our Museum School is housed, is a tribute to Jimmy’s longstanding interest in arts education and community engagement.
His spirit, intelligence and kindness have touched the hearts of our faculty, staff, students, members and trustees, as well as the art community in Newport and beyond.
He will be missed.
