Introduction to Tufting (Register by June 23)

Tufting uses a hollow needle to create loops of yarn though an open weave canvas, which results in a textured carpet-like surface. Students will create their own designs, explore basic needle punch techniques, and experiment with other tufting equipment including hand tools and electric guns.

Supplies to bring Day 1
Students should purchase an Amy Oxford Punch Needle #10 and Morgan Plastic No-Slip Hoop 7″

Location and Parking
Newport Art Museum School classes are held in the Coleman Center, located at 26 Liberty Street. Please park in our museum parking lots.
