5 Weeks

Tuesday 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Taught by David Barnes

Enjoy the beautiful late afternoon light and cooling temperatures as we visit different places on Aquidneck Island to paint “plein air” landscapes. This class will focus on capturing the magical fleeting light of summer afternoons. We will visit some of the locations made famous by John La Farge, William Troust Williams and Martin Johnson Heade to capture the light and atmosphere that inspired Luminism and Tonalism in American art.
