Summer Arts Camp: Zoom Into Zoomorphic Art

July 3, 2023 - July 7, 2023

4 days (No camp 7/4!)

Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Teaching Artist: Lisa May Tobin

Ages 9-12

Think of ‘Zoo’ (as in ‘animals’) and add ‘Morph’ (which is a word meaning ‘form’), and you get Zoomorphic Art! Around the world many cultures have used animal shapes as a style of representation to tell a story or as a decoration for anything from jewelry to architecture. We will hear tales from Greek and Egyptian Mythology, and more recently Harry Potter! Using a variety of mediums our class will create masks, plaques, sculpture and paintings inspired by these stories. Campers should bring lunch, a drink, and paint-friendly clothing. Friends and family are invited to join us Friday at 1:45pm for a mini exhibition of camper’s art work. Ages 9-12.
