Pendants in Porcelain

April 10, 2022 - May 22, 2022

6 sessions (no class May 8)

Sundays 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Taught by Christine Herron

There is nothing quite like the smooth, white surface of porcelain. It is a perfect clay to mimic the texture of sea creatures, flower petals and seed pods. In this class students will be making pendants by cutting and texturing flat shapes with varied profiles. Students will be firing these components flat on hand built “firing biscuit trays” which will also be used for glaze firing as well.

Students should bring:

  • cone 6 porcelain clay
  • alumina hydrate
  • wax
