Interior Design: Seeing the Bigger Picture

The initial planning stage of any interior design project is a critical part of a project’s success and often isn’t given the time and attention it deserves. In this 3-hour workshop we will discuss and explore what planning and preparation you can do at the beginning of a project to ensure a successful outcome. This includes considering how you want to live in the space, articulating the look and feeling you want to achieve, thinking about what you can change and what you can’t change in the place, and allowing time to develop and study furniture layouts. We will take time to address specific questions you may have about what to do to prepare for a project. This workshop is for anyone who is thinking about an interior design project or who wants to dive deeper into the interior design process.

Leslie Banker is the Principal of Leslie Banker & Company, an interior design firm based in NYC that works mostly on residential projects around the US. She is the co-author of The Pocket Decorator and The Pocket Renovator published by Universe and is working on a forthcoming book to be published by Rizzoli.
