NEWPORT, RI: Caitlin Strokosch, Director of The Alliance of Artists Communities will speak about artists' residency programs and communities at the Newport Art Museum on Thursday, June 10, 6 - 7:30 pm. Strokosch will be joined by directors from programs in New England and Italy. Panelists will provide information about hundreds of places across the country and in Rhode Island where artists of all kinds and every career stage can go to work intensively on their art. The Alliance of Artists Communities is a national and international association of artists' communities and residencies that support artists of any discipline in the development of new creative work. This free presentation on Newport Gallery Night will feature David Macy from The MacDowell Colony, Linda Marston-Reid from Bellagio and Joanne Paradis from I-Park who will highlight their programs for artists. The Museum is open until 8 pm on Gallery Night and admission is free from 5 - 8 pm. For information call (401) 848-8200.
