Call for Entries: smallWORKS round three

NEWPORT, RI: The Newport Art Museum is looking for original ceramic works, original works on paper, and handcrafted jewelry for the third round of "smallWORKS," an exhibition and sale opportunity for regional artists who are members of the Museum. Juror Jessica Hagen will select original works for exhibition and sale in the Museum's Griffon Shop. Accepted pieces will be shown for three months. If sold, artists will retain a 50 percent commission. Deadline for submissions is Saturday, June 26th.

Artists may submit up to 6 pieces and set their own prices for accepted works, although the Museum encourages prices below $350. All art must be matted, backed and either shrink-wrapped or sealed in Mylar. No framed work will be accepted. A typed description indicating artist, title, medium, size, year and price must be affixed to the back of the print inside the protecting Mylar. Submit original art only, including limited edition fine art prints such as woodcuts, linocuts, etchings, mezzotints, aquatints, numbered photographs, and paintings on paper. No giclées, photocopies, lithographs or other reproductions will be accepted. Maximum outside dimensions: 16 X 20 in.

Interested artists may drop off works for consideration on June 25th and 26th between 10am and 5pm. All artists will be notified of acceptance on Wednesday June 30th. All non-selected work must be picked up Thursday, July 1st between 10am and 5pm.
