With the arrival of summer, we are immersed in new growth. Nature is in full bloom and encourages us to exercise our own creativity. This has prompted me to think about how art inspires us to grow as human beings.

When we engage in art, we enter the life of the mind and spirit. Our sense of compassion and understanding of human experience is developed by the study of art which tells the human story, which in turn, inspires us. Making art expands our ability to make sense of our own lives and to develop skills to “craft our own story.” The creative spirit invests us with the power to reach deep within to discover what is most important to us, providing context in both a historical and a metaphorical sense, freeing us to tap into the best in ourselves.

As the Museum offers you opportunities to grow through art, so too does the Museum grow because of your involvement. That we continue to nurture one another is essential to the strength of our museum family and community.

We'd love to hear from you
